Boca West Country Club and The Club at Ibis both offer something buyers come to South Florida looking for: a home connected to golf, recreation, dining and an established social community.

But choosing between them starts with a more personal question: Where do you want to spend your days, and what do you want those days to look like?

Boca West puts you in Boca Raton, with a large residential community and extensive amenities. Ibis offers a northern Palm Beach County setting beside Grassy Waters Preserve, three Nicklaus-family golf courses and a substantial investment in its next chapter.

At The Entel Group, we believe the house is only half the purchase. The membership, location and daily experience deserve just as much attention.

Boca West Country Club

Boca West is in Boca Raton. For buyers whose friends, family, restaurants and regular activities are already centered around Boca, that location may be the deciding factor.

Think about the places you visit every week. A club can have extraordinary facilities, but your life outside its gates matters too.

The Club at Ibis

Ibis is in West Palm Beach, with its entrance on Northlake Boulevard. Its 33 neighborhoods sit beside Grassy Waters Preserve, giving the community a distinctive natural setting.

For buyers focused on West Palm Beach and the northern part of Palm Beach County, Ibis deserves consideration. Tour the surrounding area and drive your usual routes before deciding which location fits.

Which club is better for golf?

Both communities offer multiple courses, giving golfers variety without needing to join several clubs.

Boca West has four championship courses. Its golf improvement program adds another dimension through the reimagining of Course 1, a new par-3 short course and an 18-hole putting course. Confirm opening dates and course availability when planning your purchase or visit.

Ibis has three Nicklaus-family courses: Legend, Heritage and Tradition. Premier Golf provides the club’s most extensive golf privileges, while Signature Golf has a different fee and reservation structure. The Tradition redesign is part of the community’s approved capital plan.

Course count is only the beginning of the comparison. Ask when your golf privileges begin, how tee times are allocated, what you pay per round and which courses will be available during renovations.

At Ibis, the published fee schedule specifically advises buyers to check golf membership availability. For either community, obtain written confirmation of the access attached to your membership before committing to a home.

How do joining fees and annual dues compare?

A useful comparison separates the upfront joining payment from annual club expenses, association charges and property ownership costs.

Boca West membership costs

Boca West’s published joining-fee change increased the club fee to $215,000 effective October 1, 2026. The separately reported $20,000 Master Association capital contribution brings the combined upfront figure to $235,000, before other applicable costs.

Annual dues and sport-specific charges should be quoted from the schedule applicable to your membership and closing date. A base social-dues figure should not be presented as the complete annual cost of playing golf.

Ibis membership costs

The supplied Ibis Schedule of Club Charges for November 1, 2026 through October 31, 2027 lists the following non-refundable membership contributions and annual dues. These rates take effect November 1, 2026.

The schedule also lists a separate $10,000 PM capital contribution per home purchase, plus PM fees equivalent to $4,164 per year, billed quarterly. Joining contributions plus the PM capital contribution total $210,000 for Premier Golf, $180,000 for Signature Golf and $140,000 for Tennis, before other applicable costs.

The annualized CIP assessments above equal 12 payments at the schedule’s stated monthly rates. Operating dues, capital dues and 12 months of CIP assessments total $29,335 for Premier Golf, $24,037 for Signature Golf and $18,791 for Tennis. These totals exclude applicable tax, PM fees, neighborhood association charges and usage fees. The schedule lists a $36 cart fee per person per 18 holes and a $2,150 annual golf-cart trail fee. Confirm which charges apply to your membership and usage.

Tennis and pickleball

Boca West’s new pickleball facility was completed in May 2026 with 25 courts, including 12 covered courts. For a frequent player, the covered-court component is a meaningful feature to experience during a tour.

Ibis combines an established tennis program with a planned racquets expansion. Its capital plan includes 12 new pickleball courts, five covered, and two padel courts.

The distinction matters: Boca West’s new pickleball facility is completed; the Ibis additions are part of its improvement program. Ask Ibis about construction phases and availability for your intended move-in date.

Beyond counting courts, investigate organized play, lessons, leagues and how new members find games.

What does the Ibis investment mean for buyers?

Ibis members approved a $63 million capital investment plan covering golf, fitness, wellness, dining and recreation.

The announced scope includes the Tradition Course redesign, a nearly doubled fitness center, a new spa, racquets improvements and a fifth dining destination called The Landing.

For prospective buyers, this creates a reason to look closely at the community’s future. It also makes the construction schedule and funding obligations part of the buying decision. Understand which facilities you can use immediately, what is still planned and which charges apply to your purchase.

A major improvement program can enhance the member experience. It does not guarantee future home-price appreciation.

How do the homes and neighborhoods compare?

Boca West’s approximately 3,500 residences are spread across 55 villages. Its housing choices include condominiums, villas, townhomes and single-family homes. Village selection can change your maintenance responsibilities, layout, views and proximity to club facilities.

According to the club’s official history, Ibis comprises 1,862 homes at completion across 33 neighborhoods with housing ranging from condominiums and townhomes to single-family and estate residences. Its preserve-adjacent setting adds another consideration for buyers who value landscape and surroundings. Source: The Club at Ibis.

Compare individual properties carefully. Roof age, renovations, insurance, association budgets and upcoming building or neighborhood projects can change the ownership cost substantially.

The lowest asking price is only one piece of the calculation.

Shopping and restaurants near Boca West and Ibis

Country club living gives you plenty of reasons to stay inside the gates. The surrounding area matters when you want to shop, meet friends for lunch or try somewhere different for dinner.

Boca West shopping and dining

Boca West gives buyers a Boca Raton base, with Town Center shopping and downtown dining as two distinct destinations.

Town Center at Boca Raton, on Glades Road, is a major shopping destination with fashion, accessories, home-related retailers and dining. It works well for combining shopping with lunch or dinner rather than making separate outings.

Restaurant options at Town Center include The Capital Grille for a steakhouse meal, True Food Kitchen for a health-focused menu and The Blue Dog Cookhouse and Bar for another lunch, dinner or brunch option.

Farther east, Mizner Park offers a different outing: shops, restaurants and a pedestrian-friendly setting for walking around before or after dinner. Max’s Grille, known for its contemporary American menu, is one of its established dining anchors.

For buyers comparing clubs, these are useful places to visit during a home-shopping trip. Spend part of the day around Town Center and an evening downtown to see whether Boca’s shopping and dining scene feels like your kind of routine.

Ibis shopping and dining

Ibis combines everyday shopping on Northlake Boulevard with broader restaurant and retail choices in Palm Beach Gardens and West Palm Beach.

For groceries, Publix at Shoppes at Ibis, at 10130 Northlake Boulevard, is a practical local stop. It is useful to distinguish this everyday convenience from the larger shopping and dining destinations farther east.

The Gardens Mall is a major destination for a shopping day. Its directory includes retailers such as Bloomingdale’s, Apple, Gucci and Ferragamo, with dining options including Brio Italian Grille and Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant.

Downtown Palm Beach Gardens offers an outdoor setting for dining and spending time with friends. Options include Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, Yard House, Avocado Cantina and Pura Vida, with Van Leeuwen for ice cream.

Along PGA Boulevard, Christopher’s Kitchen at Midtown adds a plant-based dining option. For a separate city outing, downtown West Palm Beach offers another concentration of restaurants, shops and galleries.

Ibis is in western West Palm Beach; The Gardens Mall, PGA Boulevard restaurants and downtown West Palm Beach are destinations to drive to. Buyers should test those routes from the particular home they are considering rather than treating all northern Palm Beach County amenities as immediately outside the gate.

Which area fits your routine?

Our view: choose Boca West if you want your shopping, dinners and social plans centered around Boca Raton. Consider Ibis if you prefer a northern Palm Beach County base and enjoy outings to Palm Beach Gardens and West Palm Beach.

Both offer choices beyond the club. The meaningful comparison is where you will actually go each week—and how that drive fits your life. Restaurant tenants and hours can change; check the linked directories before visiting.

Frequently asked questions

Does Ibis have the same golf privileges for every member?

No. Premier Golf, Signature Golf and Tennis are distinct categories. Confirm privileges, reservation rules, fees and availability directly with the club.

Are the new Ibis amenities already open?

The club describes them as part of its capital investment plan. Confirm each facility’s opening date rather than assuming the entire program is complete.

Which community costs less?

There is no reliable single answer. Compare the specific home, membership category, applicable joining charges, annual dues, associations, taxes, insurance and assessments.

How should I compare the communities in person?

Tour homes and amenities at both. Visit during the hours you expect to use the club, ask about member introductions and organized activities, and drive the routes you would use outside the gates.
